Information Technology
What field is information technology used in? Commonly used synonyms for Information Technology include Computers, Computer Networks, Software, Hardware, Web Design, Electronics, Telecommunications, and Semiconductors. Fields and sectors are two broad categories that need clarification when associated with Information Technology
1.Computers
The software includes all the computer programs –
codes and instructions – within a computer. Computers do not work without
software. Hardware, in this context, refers to the physical components of a
computer system. The screen (monitor), mouse, and motherboard, for example, are
hardware items.
2.Computer Networks
Information technology is
the design and implementation of computer networks for data processing and
communication
3.Software
Information Technology (IT)
and software development are related to issues related to computer technology,
software, the Internet, the people who work with it, and the basic processes in
these disciplines. It includes not only code writing, but also preparation and
training to meet the requirements and organizational objectives. The objectives
for Information Technology (IT) and software development are
accelerating product development, managing knowledge, optimizing processes,
reducing costs, and gaining a competitive advantage. These objectives are
necessary to ensure that the availability of and access to information works
optimally at all times in order to be able to make well-founded decisions in a
timely manner.
4.HardwareThis includes designing
the hardware for processing information and connecting separate components and
developing software that can efficiently and faultlessly analyze and distribute
this data.
5.Web design information technology
(IT) web developers build and maintain websites to fit the needs of companies
or customers. The work of a web developer requires layout and writing code.
They plan, direct and execute measurable and continuous improvements to
corporate and regional website HTML5/CSS/JavaScript development and site
production (otherwise known as hand code).
6.ElectronicsElectronic and Information
Technology includes computer hardware and software, operating systems,
web-based information and applications, telephones and other telecommunications
products, video equipment, and multimedia products.
7.Telecommunications Telecommunication,
science, and practice of transmitting information by electromagnetic means.
Modern telecommunication centers on the problems involved in transmitting large
volumes of information over long distances without damaging loss due to noise and interference.
The basic components of a modern digital telecommunications system must be
capable of transmitting voice, data, radio, and television signals. Digital
transmission is employed in order to achieve high reliability and because the
cost of digital switching systems is much lower than the cost of analog
systems. In order to use digital transmission, however, the analog signals that
make up most voice, radio, and television communication must be subjected to a
process of analog-to-digital conversion. (In data transmission this step is
bypassed because the signals are already in digital form; most television,
radio, and voice communication, however, use the What field is

In many cases, the digitized signal is passed through a source encoder, which
employs a number of formulas to reduce redundant binary information. After
source encoding, the digitized signal is processed in a channel encoder, which
introduces redundant information that allows errors to be detected and
corrected. The encoded signal is made suitable for transmission by modulation
onto a carrier wave and may be made part of a larger signal in a process known
as multiplexing. The multiplexed signal is then sent into a multiple-access
transmission channel. After transmission, the above process is reversed at the
receiving end, and the information is extracted.
